Seeking asylum in Germany: Does human and social capital determine the outcome of asylum procedures?

A lecture with Dr Yuliya Kosyakova (Nürnberg) will take place in Regensburg on 30 July 2019. The event is part of the AB Economic lecture series from the Economics Department at the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (Leibniz-Institut für Ost- und Südosteuropaforschung – IOS).

Dr Yuliya Kosyakova is a post-doctoral researcher at the Migration and International Labour Studies Department in the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), the Research Institute of the Federal Employment Agency, Nuremberg, Germany.

She holds a doctoral degree (PhD) in Sociology. Her doctoral thesis was entitled “The regime change and social inequality: Educational and job careers in the Soviet and post-Soviet Era” and was completed at the Department of Social and Political Science in the European University Institute. At the IAB, she has been focusing on the issues of Migration and Integration.
