"Five days of history - Economy - Literature - Politics" on Ukraine

From 11 to 15 March 2019, the Winter School "Five Days of History - Economy - Literature - Politics" on Ukraine will take place in Regensburg. The winter school is organized by the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Research (IOS) Regensburg in cooperation with the Universität Regensburg (UR), the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich and the Ukrainian Free University (UFU) Munich. The public events and the accompanying cultural program are offered in cooperation with the Graduate School.
The Winter School is aimed at students and young scientists as well as interested parties from social institutions and the media, who want to find out about basic historical, cultural and economic contexts of the Ukraine and its neighbors.
The program consists of four courses that teach Ukrainian history, economics, literature and politics. From Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., in successive courses, backgrounds and connections of historical, political, cultural and economic issues are taught and discussed. Lectures on current topics complete the program.
The public cultural program will comprise of a literary and film evening, a panel discussion on the current political situation in the Ukraine, and - for participants only - a city tour through historic Regensburg:
