Features and factors of social and political protests in Kazakhstan

Political participation is one of the important components of the political system. A special measure of political behavior and participation is a political protest. Political protest is a manifestation of negative attitudes towards the political system as a whole and its individual elements, standards, values decision makers openly demonstrated form. The protest is present in any system of political relations, accompanied by the development of any political system; any change in forms and methods of policy inevitably affects the features of the developed state of political protest. One of the most important conditions to anticipate the consequences of political transition, to estimate the probability of stabilizing the political development is related to the political regime on the part of citizens. The presence in the community of democratic culture, suggesting that support for the political regime depends upon the effectiveness of the state government is largely guaranteed by society abuses of power. The ability of the civilian population for political protest, the presence of a corresponding legitimate procedures and democratic institutions can serve as a criterion of maturity of civil society and the extent of the likely stability of social development. The need for research political protest dictated how methodological difficulties in defining the very concept, so conflicting interpretations empirical results. Study of the problems of political protest today followed by stormy theoretical discussions, which are reflected in a number of conceptual approaches and explanatory models. The diversity and inconsistency of existing points of view determines the urgency of this problem. Mechanisms of regulation of social and political protests and their consequences insufficiently investigated in the domestic political science. For independent Kazakhstan the problem of social and political protest is relatively new. Although effective public policies in different parts of the country there have been social and political protest movements. It is an indicator of democracy, expression of the citizens' will, however, need to recognize that the consequences could be unpredictable.

My thesis is to identify the characteristics and factors of social and political protest in Kazakhstan and will:

  • explore and systematize the concept of social and political protest available to foreign and domestic social and political science;
  • by studying the different classifications social-political conflicts offer its classification;
  • explore the genesis and development of social and political protests in Kazakhstan and to identify factors;
  • identify the types and characteristics of social and political protests in Kazakhstan;
  • develop mechanisms to prevent transition of social and political protests in extreme forms of political activity.
