Profile

Árpád von Klimó is Associate Professor of European History at the Catholic University of America since 2012. He has done research and published in different fields of 19th and 20th century European history, mostly on Hungary, Italy and Germany. After his dissertation and h abilitation at FU Berlin he worked as a Research Fellow at the Center for Research in Contemporary History, Potsdam (ZZF), and taught as visiting professor at the International University Bremen, at the University of Vienna, and as DAAD Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. Currently, Dr. von Klimó is working on a monograph about the Holocaust and Hungarian society between 1942 and 1989, focusing on the Novi Sad massacre of 1942. Current Research Project: „The Novi Sad massacre of 1942 and the debates about WWII and the Holocaust in Hungary until 1989“.
