Dr. Marsha Siefert

Profile

Dr. Marsha Siefert holds an MA and a PhD in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Ph.D. (Nostrification) in Literature from the University of Szeged. She currently teaches at the Department of History of CEU Budapest. She is a communications and cultural historian, with current research projects on nineteenth-century imperial telecommunications networks and cinematic diplomacy in the Cold War.

Dr. Marsha Siefert was fellow – among others- at Visegrad Foundation, 2011 (Slovak Republic), Harry Ransom Center, 2008 (The University of Austin, Texas, USA) and Rothermere American Institute, 2007 (Oxford University, GB). She is editor of the Journal of Communication, 1985-1991, Oxford University Press. Beside other is Dr. Marsha Siefert co-editor of Historical Studies in Eastern Europe and Eurasia, CEU Press, Longman Communication Books in International communication, Longman Publishers and Communications and Society Book Series, Oxford University Press. Furthermore she is member of the Editorial Board of Popular Music and Society; New Media and Society; International Communication Gazette; Handbook of New Media, Interstitio: East European Review of Historical Anthropology; Media and Religion (Moscow)
